Prices and Fees

Prices and fees

Three different numbers get called "the price" in this process. Only one of them is on this site, and it is the least important of the three.

The reference price

Every entry records what the seller was charging in CNY on the date the entry was last opened. It is copied by hand, converted at 7.2 purely so it is readable in dollars, and updated when the entry is re-checked. It is a sorting tool: it tells you which band an item sits in, and how it compares with cheaper and dearer takes on the same idea.

The price in the cart

This is the real one. It is set by the seller, it changes without notice, and it is what LitBuy will actually charge. Differences against the reference figure are normal and are not an error on our side.

The fees on top

Agents add a handling percentage to the item price. International postage is billed separately, by weight, once the parcel is packed — so it is unknown at the point of buying the item. Both are charged by LitBuy under their published schedule, and neither is set by this site.

What this site earns

If you register with LitBuy through a link here, we receive a referral credit from the agent's margin. You pay the same amount either way. No listing is promoted, reordered or ranked because of it — the catalogue is alphabetical inside each category, and entries are only added or removed on the four checks described in how entries are picked.
